Caring for Your Hand-Dyed Yarn

Thank you for choosing Painted Skein. To keep your hand-dyed yarn looking its best, please follow these care instructions:

Washing

• Hand wash gently in cool or lukewarm water (max 30°C / 86°F)
• Use a gentle wool wash or mild soap — avoid regular detergent
• Do not agitate, wring, or rub — gently squeeze water through
• Rinse thoroughly in water of the same temperature to avoid felting

Drying

• Gently press out excess water — do not wring
• Lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight and heat sources
• Do not tumble dry or hang to dry (hanging can stretch the fiber)

Additional Tips

• Do not bleach
• Do not dry clean
• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the color
• Hand-dyed yarns may experience slight color bleeding on first wash — this is normal
